Sanjay Shambhu
Councillor - South Gloucestershire Council
Sanjay lives in Charlton Hayes with his wife and two children. He has been your local councillor representing Charlton & Cribbs constituent ward on the South Gloucestershire unitary council since 2019. Sanjay is an ardent supporter of local residents, and he has taken hundreds of case work on issues in Charlton Hayes, Patchway and Cribbs Causeway, Filton Airfield, Northfield and Brabazon.
He has been a local campaigner for Charlton Hayes, Patchway and Cribbs Causeway since 2017. And he has secured many campaign wins for local residents e.g. road re-surfacing, rat run prevention in Passage Road, street bins in Charlton Hayes and Patchway library opening hour extension, keeping Charlton Boulevard open, creation of Charlton Hayes Parish, additional funding for Patchway. Sanjay is campaigning to merge the management company function into newly formed Charlton Hayes Parish, early adoption of roads in Charlton Hayes & Northfield Park, and more road resurfacing in Patchway & Cribbs Causeway.
Sanjay was member of school formation steering committee and later a governor of Charlton Wood Primary Academy. He has also served as Chairman of South Gloucestershire Council. He is a software engineer by profession and holds an MSc with distinction from the University of Oxford.
